Better Canned Green Beans

Ingredients:

  • 1 (15oz) can green beans, drained and rinsed

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1-2 tablespoons butter

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Directions:

  1. Drain the green beans and rinse then off with cool water in a colander (this will remove excess salt and flavor of the canned brine).

  2. Warm a large skillet over medium heat.

  3. Add the olive oil and butter. 

  4. Once butter is melted and beginning to sizzle, add the drained green beans and seasonings. 

  5. Cook, uncovered while stirring occasionally until fully heated through and fragrant.

  6. Taste and adjust seasonings to your liking.
